All of our linux hosting accounts have several ‘common’ features between them:

Control Panels

All of our web hosting accounts are based on the eXtend cPanel interface (version 2.0). This is a professional solution to managing web hosting accounts online. More information on the control panel can be found by clicking here. There are two main control panels for every hosting package.

The first of the these is the web hosting control panel.

This can be accessed using: http://controlpanel.yourdomain.com. From here you can control email accounts, and various other features.

The second of these is the domain control panel.

This can be accessed using: http://domaincontrolpanel.yourdomain.com. From here you can control details such as your WHOIS information or nameservers for example.


All of our accounts feature webmail. This means that you can access your emails from anywhere in the world. This can be done using the simple web address of http://webmail.yourdomain.com.

You can manage all emails from here (that have not been downloaded already to a computer – unless the settings are changed to leave mail on the web server), from absolutely any computer that has the internet.

Email Settings

All mailboxes by default are POP3 (although you can create IMAP accounts) for receiving mail and SMTP for outgoing mail. This means that messages can easily be downloaded into Email Client Software such as Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook.

Unlike most web hosting companies, we supply you with an SMTP server (usually you have to get your internet service provider to give you one of these), so that you can send emails, just as easily as you receive them, all through us.

What makes it even better, is the ease of remembering your mail login details to the server. Rather than having to worry about remembering your POP3 login details for example, the details for both the POP3 and SMTP servers settings are mail.yourdomain.com and your actual login details are the same as your actual email address and password. How much easier could it be?

File Transfer (Uploading Files to the Web)

On all accounts, in order to transfer files to your website, you can use the online file manager, which can be accessed via the control panel. Alternatively you can use the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Server to do this, which is far quicker. You can access this via Windows Explorer for example, using the login details provided to you, upon purchasing a package from us.

By default, the FTP Address will look like this: ftp://yourdomain.com


Currently, our systems support MYSQL 5 (using the web interface as well), and PHP, versions 4 & 5. You can also use PHP MyAdmin, a useful web based program to help with the PHP coding. We can also supply copies PHPInfo() dumps upon request for both versions of PHP supported. If there are any further questions in this field, please do not hesitate to contact us.
