What is a domain name?
A domain name is simply a uniquely identifiable address which people refer to in order to access someone's website. When a user types in this address into an internet browser, it finds the IP address that it relates to and then loads the website from there.

How should I pick a domain name?
Although domain names can be up to 63 characters in length, it is best to keep them shorter than that so people can remember your website easily. By having a domain such johnsmithsbeerisbetterthancarlsbergbeer.co.uk is rather long-winded for people to remember easily. A good tip is to keep your domain name below 8 characters or as short as possible with some sort of domain that relates to your company.
